In the celestial sphere, there is a zone about 20 degrees wide, which is called the zodiac. It is located on both sides of the ecliptic, the "migration path" of the Sun during the year.
The zodiac contains 12 signs_of_the_zodiac (star signs) of 30-degree graduations each. Each part of the plane of terrestrial orbit starting from the East is named after the Zodiac signs.
The signs of the zodiac are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. They are often used in astrology for horoscopes. The signs of the zodiac probably originated more than 2000 years ago in Mesopotamia.
The Babylonians passed them on to other ancient cultures such as the Greeks. The Egyptians had assigned different names and symbols to the signs of the zodiac. The Chinese called the 12 sections Rat, Ox, Tiger, Hare, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Fowl, Dog and Pig.
The points at which the Sun is located at the start of the four seasons, are called the spring, summer, autumn and winter points. The phenomenon of the day and night being equal are called the equinoxes; 21st June and 22nd December are called the solstices.
Depending on the grativational pull of the Sun and the Moon on the equatorial bulge of the Earth, the polar_axis of the Earth continuously rotates just a little further.
Within 26,000 years, it will swivel like an inclined gyro around the perpendicular on the plane of terrestrial orbit. The zodiacal figures and signs will continue to separate a little within the millennium.
Thus, the zodiac sign "Aries" is now a located a little bit in the zodiacal figure "Pisces" and the sign "Taurus" in the zodiacal figure "Aries". The spring point is also getting displaced by this "gyro movement".
